Anne McCaffrey Has Died - GalleyCat →

Fantasy novelist Anne McCaffrey has passed away. She was 85 years old. GalleyCat confirmed the news with Random House this afternoon.

Aside from Lord of the Rings and Neverending Story, she was one of my very first favorite fantasy authors. I remember reading a short story of hers in 7th grade and going home and basically writing my very first fanfic. My character was a major Mary Sue. She had a GOLDEN dragon, natch.

RIP Anne McCaffery, you were the shit.
